THE ELECTRICITY BILL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EBMS)
is a web-based platform that harmonizes the electricity bills of all public facilities into a user-friendly accounting and energy-management tool.
THE OPPORTUNITY
MDA debt has had a crippling effect on the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI). The electricity distribution companies (DISCOs) are being owed an excess of ₦80bn resulting in a debt-ridden balance sheet for most of them. Consequently, they find it difficult to secure adequate financing to meet the magnitude of investment required to improve their networks.
The government has therefore been called upon to help the Power Sector by settling legitimate MDA debt. The Federal Government started the process of verifying and paying for legitimate bills in 2017 while other State Governments such as Kaduna have since followed suit.
FEATURES
The EBMS can be used for all State-managed public facilities (schools, waterboards, offices, hospitals, etc), Local Government, Federal Government, or the Judiciary (courts).
